"COME ON!!~!< LETS RIDE THE DRUNK BUS!!~!

After Jenny got sick, and I quit Baking for a living. The money got very tight. The city was advertising for a driver for the "College Bus". It didn't seem like to tough a job so i signed on. The Bus was hired by the City to transport the College kids to the bars downtown , then haul their drunkin Butts back after bar close . it was a very Interesting job. also very Risky. Remember the song, "the girls all get prettier at closin time"? Well , That's cuz the eyes iz kinder at Closing time. The town remained quiet for the early hours as everyone was "partaking". But around 10:30 just like clockwork The police and EMT's were buzzing around from bar to bar like little bee's. I started taking a police scanner so I would know where the squad cars were headed as I had to be moving in and out of the downtown area. it was not uncommon to hear one or two calls a night with kids not breathing from Alcohol Poisoning. And I had to watch for drunken kids wondering out in the streets. or see groups peeing on storefronts, or fights on two and three corners simultaneously. And At bar close, they kicked them all out onto the street. When I would round the corner , after "last Call"to the downtown area, It was not uncommon to be rushed by 40 to 50 kids all drunk and all yelling and screaming. Their favorite chant was "Drunk Bus, Drunk Bus"as they clambered on board , some nights 30 passengers over capacity. They literally tried to rock the bus off its wheels more than once, and Many nights i'd have pull the bus over and stop to break up fights , and I've seen blood from my drivers seat to the last window. windows were broken out, And I even had to stop a rape attempt one evening by two guys who had turned into supermen. But everyone turns a blind eye because they, the kids were generating big cash for the local Bigwigs.

My focus was to pick the drunkest guy or gal -n- try to get him/her home before it all came up in the seats. One night I had cleared the Route and gassed the bus before I found someone passed out between the seats, just before putting the bus in a big ole deep dark shed. imagine my drunk friend if he woke in a strange dark barn after a night of heavy partying.

These kids are Our future.!,, Among them, Our Doctors and Health Care Workers. Is it any wonder we can no longer just Trust a Surgeon? Final Exam "packets" are now available Online, and cheap. And far to many are seeking high paying jobs with no concern for their "Oath". Don't get me wrong, We still have some great Medical Folks out there. But The mix is getting thinner. Conventional Medical Docs are "expected to show a good number of "patients" per day. They'll tell you that's not true but its a fact. And the MRI's and CT scans mean an easy 500 dollar "gift" to the prescrib-er . No wonder they use that so often huh??
We need a bottom line Here. Before ya'll start thinkin I live in a berry patch. Things "ain't what they used to Be". The day of just "trusting Professional people is GONE!! Begin to question the Doc. Chk-n see if he's popular Through others. If what He's/She's sayin sounds like it's comin outta the wood pile, or hiz shoes aint on the right feets, look up quick, that's a flag goin off, for your benefit. It's your body , be careful who butchers it. better still find a good Homeopath, and get some more info before you butcher. An who knows, you may like what you hear,............

Hey Butchie, Glad to c you're back on and bloggin. Well, your analogy of how educated some of these students are when coming out of college, has a loud CLANG of truth to it. I went to college late in my years, as you know. While studying my brains out for tests in my law classes and then barely passing some of them with a C!, I'd run into many who just paid their $200 bucks for their answers prior to test day. It irritated the heck out of me but there's not much I could do about it. While it's no secret that lawyers come out of a box these days (probably crackerjacks!), I'm certain it's no different at all the rest of the colleges around the country. If our tiny little town has the 'easy road' available to students for testing, I'm sure the big colleges do too. It's come to be a universal fact that college is for drinking, not learning.

Just had to put my 2cents in...

Sounds like you have you hands full on that bus. It is hard to believe that they will soon be doctors and layers. It is even harder to believe that they are going to survive the college years. I don't think all of them behave like this just some of them do. Hopefully my doctor wasn't one of them.
